Newcastle Arms.

Tyneside "Pub of the Year"

2006, 2007 & 2008.

Runner Up 2009/10/11

A very warm welcome is extended to all patrons, visitors and guests from the management and staff of the Newcastle Arms, multi-award winning real ale house. Under the tenancy of experienced publican, Neil Amos since April 2005, we have endeavoured to transform this traditional and historic watering hole back to its original status as one of Tyneside's premier cask ale outlets.

In recognition of our achievements, CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) has awarded us their much-coveted "Tyneside Pub Of The Year" accolade for 3 out of the last 6 years (2006, 2007 & 2008) and after close voting, has credited us as the region's runner-up for 2009, 2010 & 2011. www.camra.org.uk

HOW TO FIND US

BY METRO - Nearest stop is St.James (1min). Head out the main entrance, down the bank, cross over Gallowgate and you will see us dead ahead just beyond the Chinese archway. Alteratively from Monument (3mins) walk up Blackett St., past Old Eldon Square. At the lights head over to St. Andrews church and turn right just before the Co-Op. www.nexus.org.uk

BY RAIL - For visitors arriving at Newcastle's Central Station (5mins) head out the front exit, across Neville St, bear left and walk up Pink Lane. Go straight past the Forth Pub, cross over Clayton St. & continue up the lane. Cross to the Tyne News shop, follow the old city wall on your right for 100 yds, turn right onto Stowell St. & we are at the far end just around the corner from Rosie's Bar. www.eastcoast.co.uk

BY CAR A visit by car should be the easiest of tasks due to an abundance of cheap, nearby public parking, including NCP on Stowell St. & the St.James' Metro car park on Gallowgate. However due to the council's latest, bizarre traffic mis-management scheme, it now takes the ordinary motorist approximately 5hrs to travel from Haymarket to Gallowgate. We therefore recommend local public transport, which has the additional benefit that you may consume far more alcohol (in a responsible fashion of course).

NEARBY VENUES

Never one to hog the limelight, we are also keen to promote & encourage the various other establishments within Newcastle that share our passion for real ale. In the unlikely scenario that after a night at the Newcastle

Arms you would like to blow your bus-fare home on one last scoop elsewhere, here are the select few that we

choose to recommend.

City Centre - Bacchus, Bodega, Bridge Hotel, Centurian, Central Bar,

Crown Posada, Duke Of Wellington, Forth, Hotspur, Head of Steam,

LYH, Lady Gray's, Tilley's, Town Wall, Strawberry.

- City East/Ouseburn - Cluny, Cumberland, Free Trade, King's Manor,

  New Bridge, Tyne.

For bars/taverns that should not be visited under any circumstances,

for fear of having that aforementioned busfare robbed, please visit our

(now retired) friends at the Burglars Dog.www.theburglarsdog.co.uk
